The surging Photons won 44-33 over D.S.F. who played without Benson Kwong for a sprained ankle and this 4th win in a row for the Orange gave them a significant advantage in taking a top seed into the playoffs.

With four lead changes and ties apiece, the first period was a close game. Mathew Wong scored 8 of his twelve points in the period and Michael Chan added four. Four different Photons scored and they had a one-point lead into the second period.

Every time Photons looked to go away, D.S.F. come back in it. After Ivan Shiu tied the game by a free throw, Michael Chan scored six straight team’s points and put it to a 20-18 lead. Harris Wong answered by his only field goal of the night from deep and Simon Lau added a free throw for a 22-20 into the intermission.

Photons never trail again from there.

D.S.F. had only four points in the third period, all from Michael Chan. Harris Wong dished to all four scorers from Photons and they scored nine points for a seven-point cushion entering the final period.

Mike Tse, Frankie Wing Fai Lee and Alex Li were all fouled out in the 4th period. Photons took advantage and continue to outscore the shorthanded D.S.F. as the march for the 4th straight victory and reamin unbeaten this season.

Despite missing 11 of twelve attempts from the field and held to three points only, Harris Wong had 5 boards a steal and set a new league record by 8 dimes. Ivan Shiu had his second double-double with 13 points and 12 boards. Cherry Tsui scored eight points and Thomas Kwong shot 5-6 from the line for seven points.

Michael Chan has 14 points and ten boards but committed six turnovers. Mathew Wong had 12 points, Paris Chan added five and Alex Li had two. No other D.S.F. scores.

Ivan Shiu had seven offensive boards, tied a season-high two shy of his league record set in season 2007.
