SOUTHORN Tigers 37, SAMURAI 18

Eric Leung hit a three-pointer near the end of the first period for a 5-4 lead, but SAMURAI’s 28 turnovers cost them the chance to be O4 winner a third straight time. Led by as many as 21 points, SOUTHORN Tigers’s 37-18 victory gave them the first title since winning the first season of Southorn Basketball League.

Benny Wong snapped his free-throw shooting streak just at nine but scored 7 points and dished four times in this game. Ching Yi Mak added three-points and Edward Fong scored his first field goal in the series.

Benson Kwong led all SAMURAI with 7 points and grabbed seven boards, but also committed seven turnovers, Eric Leung added five points and made the only trey for the team and Jackie Lai remain scoreless in the series this year.

M.I.B. 36, G.T. Explorers 32

Dickson Chau (MIB)  socred 14 points and hit two free throws down the stretch which sealed the win.

Jefferson Tong scored 8 and added 11 boards as M.I.B. defeat G.T. Explorers another time in a month for the 3rd place this year. Kim Chau led all Explorers with 11 points, Kit Cheng added 10 and 8. Terry Tang and Taylor Ng  also added eight boards.

Jefferson and Dickson, formerly M.I.B. (aka SPIRIT) and Chung Sing, will both put on new uniforms in coming S.B.L. season, as both of them will join SAMURAI in 2011.
