Similar to the beginning of the game against M.I.B. two weeks ago, SOUTHORN Tigers was behind at the start but took the lead back by a run, which include three 3-point shots, two from Benny Wong and one by Ken Leung. It was Tiger’s lead 9-4 on the scoreboard at the end of the first period. However, both teams can’t make a field goal in the first two or more minutes.

Bryant Chan, played his first game for G.T. Explorers, made a three point shot in the second period but Patrick Tse scored 4 points for SOUTHORN Tigers and extended the lead to 10 at half time.

With Terence Chan on the bench and played limited minutes due to injury, Patrick Tse scored 8 points, grabbed a game high 8 rebounds. He also had one assist, one block and 2 steals. Despite Benny Wong missed all 5 attempts, three from beyond the arc, and Terence Chan missed all 4 attempts in the 3rd period, the tigers had Wilson Chow scored 6 points in the period by a perfect 3-3 shooting.

Benny Wong swished a jumper with less than a minute in the game to put his team back to a three-point lead.

Martin Khan was fouled and made one of the two free throws as G.T. Explorers is only two points behind. GTE’s bench outscored Tiger’s 19-9.

Terence Chan grabbed an offensive rebound and was fouled with less than 10 seconds in the game. He made the first free throw but miss the second. Tigers grabbed the offensive rebound and the time expired as they win 33-30 and be ranked number 2 for playoff.

SOUTHORN Tigers will face M.I.B. in the first game of the Semi-Final on August 13 at 20:00 at Smithfield Road Court A.

Kelvin Lui, another new face from G.T. Explorers, grabbed 4 rebounds and had one assist but missed both field goals. Ken Yu, one of the injured players from G.T. Explorers attend the game in casual dress. Cindy Lee, the only female player in the league, attempt for her second three point and 3rd field goal attempt but the ball did not get into the basket. The two teams committed a total 15 fouls only, a league low. Tigers has no fouls in the second period.
