GRIZZ failed to get back the second spot as they lost 22-32 to V’s after G.T. Explorers’ victory against M.I.B.

V’s started the game slowly, shot 2-9 from the floor in the first period when GRIZZ had five points from Ka Wai Fu and a 9-4 lead.

GRIZZ was slowed down, however, in the second period with only two field goals. Jerry Tand and Nelson Ho, who leads the league in three-point shots, made a trey each and took a 14-13 lead at the break.

Alan Chan, Crazy Ng and Chris Tang each scored four points in the third period and they allowed only one field goal before a 12-0 run and took over the game.

Ka Wai Fu tried to save the team in the final period. He made two shots after he missed the first five in the second half and added one free throw in the final period, when he had also five rebounds and one blocked shot. But the lead was just too much for GRIZZ to handle.

Chris Tang had 7 points and 13 rebounds. Crazy Ng shot only 4-14 but added 9 points, eight rebounds and a game high four assists, with no turnover. Alan Chan added four points, eight rebounds, two assists and three steals before fouled out.

V’s had only seven players dressed. Anson Cha was not in town. Mike Chui missed for the second straight game.

Ho Yin Chan had four points, two steals and one assist. He added also a personal high seven rebounds.

V’s won two straight and scored 32 or more points after three losses to begin the season as a new team.

Ka Wai Fu came off the bench in the first period after started for the past four games.
