After victories over the defending champion and the champion in Season I, GRIZZ lost in a lopsided 21-35 Final against H.F.C., which became an unbeaten team and the champion of the season.

Tabo Chak, who won the scoring champion for the second straight season, score the game’s first points from deep. After free throws by Coling Wong and Nikko Kwok, Tabo Chak made another three as H.F.C. took a 9-1 lead at the first period end.

Ka Wai Fu, who averaged more than 12 points per game only behind Tabo Chak, scored four of the team’s 9 points in the second period but GRIZZ were still outscored in the period by 11-9. Ken Wong hit a three for a 12-1 lead, followed by Nikk Kwok’s basket, four points from Tabo Chak and two more from Kitoa Fun. H.F.C. led 20-10 at half-time.

Ka Wai Fu was the only scorer for GRIZZ and scored four points in the third period. Similar to the second period, four different H.F.C. scored in the third and they lead 28-14 entering the final period.

Tabo Chak finished the team’s final four points including two at the line. His 16 points maintained his scoring average and the scoring champion title.

After hitting at least one trey since playoffs begin and scored seven or more points in the past three games, Leo Chow was fouled out and held scoreless. Teammate Centre Gary Chong had one point before fouled out in the final period.

Johnny Lim, who entered the game with 2.6 assists, did not dish but tied a team high seven rebounds and scored on a three-point shot.

GRIZZ out-rebounded H.F.C. 28-16, 11-5 on the offensive end, but committed 19 turnovers compared to H.F.C.’s 11.

Ka Wai Fu had scored in all but one statistic category. The GRIZZ star had 12 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block but without a personal foul. He had also 2 turnovers.

Kitoa Fung played his season debut in the league’s Final. He had six points and dished twice.

H.F.C. did not score 40 or more points in only the third time in eight games this season, and only the 6th time in 15 games. H.F.C. was 2-2 in four games when they scored 35 points or less.
