Already had a locked playoff position, M.I.B. did not take it easy in a game without a purpose.

With less than 30 seconds left, M.I.B. forward Ben Cheng drove to the basket and tie the game at 35. D.S.F. guard Frankie missed a shot and M.I.B. got the defensive board as time expired and the game went into overtime.

Mike Tse scored two points on an easy, uncontested fast-break to start the extra period for D.S.F. before he was called for an unsportsmanlike foul. Corn Hui split the pair of free throw and M.I.B. had the possession. Adrian Chou missed a jumper but Chi Fu Yeun grabbed the offensive board and scored two off the glass for an one-point lead.

Despite getting offensive boards, D.S.F. failed to convert the 2nd chance points and called a timeout after a layup by Jefferson Tong and was down by three.

Mathew Wong made one of two at the line after the timeout, but Jefferson Tong, who was only two on twelve from the floor in the first 40 minutes, score his second straight basket and put M.I.B. to a 42-38 lead. Mike Tse cut the deficit to two again but D.S.F. failed to score the rest of the game. Corn Hui and Tim Cheung added one more free throw each and M.I.B. won for the second time this season.

The score was close through the whole game with nine ties and six lead changes in the first four periods.

Ben Cheng and Adrian Chou hit five of the six free throws in the first period as M.I.B. lead 7-4, before Penny Ng tie it for D.S.F. by a three-point shot entering the second period. The two teams scored seven more points again each and tied at 14 into the halftime break.

Adrian Chou took a lead for M.I.B. at 16-14 but Michael Chan answered with four straight points to re-gain the lead. Adrian tied the game again at 18 with two free throws.

Michael Chan then scored a three-pointer, sandwiched two points from Frankie Wing Fai Lee, capped by two more free throws from Michael as D.S.F. took a seven-point lead, the biggest difference in the game. But they still cannot get away, Chi Fu Yuen and Jefferson Tong combined to score ten points and the men in black cut the lead to one only at 28-29.

Benson Kwong scored the only field goal in the final period and Michael Chan had four points at the charity stripe.

Chi Fu Yeun scored 11 points and was one rebound shy for a double-double. He added two assists and three blocked shots. Ben Cheng added nine points, Corn Hui and Jefferson Tong each added eight. Adrian made 5 on 8 at the line, scored seven points despite shooting 1-8 from the field.

Michael Chan shot 5-9 from the field and was perfect at the line by making all eight free throws to lead all scorers by 19 points but was scoreless in overtime as he missed his lone attempt. Benson Kwong returned to the hardwood after missing the previous game to a sprained ankle. The D.S.F. centre had six points, eight boards and a dime but was only three on eleven from the floor and missed all four free throws.

D.S.F. starters turned the ball over 15 times, M.I.B. recorded only 10 turnovers for the whole team.

Since winning in a quarter-final game against G.T. Explorers, dated 2006 December 3 at Smithfield Sports Centre, M.I.B. has won three of the fifteen games followed. All the three wins came from court A of Sheung Wan Sports Centre.
