Wild Beasts end season with nothign to six.

Wild Beasts failed to find one single victory in 2009 and wil miss the playoffs after the 32-19 loss to Challengers, who thus stayed at 5th place in FLIGHT division.

Challengers opened the game with a 5-0 spurt from a trey by Yin Ho and Yu Yin Hon’s three-point play conlcuded the first period for a 9-4 lead.

Ken Sy added four points followed by six from Stephen Tsang, the two challengers combined for all the team’s second period points. Despite a perfect 4-for-4 at foul line by Penny Chan and Chi King Yu, Wild Beasts were allowed only one field goal, while Challengers brought a nine-point lead into the half.

Bryant Chan added a free-throw and put the lead to double-digitat 22-12. The teams exchanged baskets and Challengers still had a 10-point cushion entering the 4th period.

Midway through the final period, Jonathan De Castro completed a three-point play and pulled within nine but Wild Beasts could not score again the rest of the game.

Wild Beast almost had the same number of turnovers (14) as rebounds (15). The 19 points scored is only one more than their worst game this year, when they lost 18-28 to Chung Sing.

It was the first time in three seasons the Wild Beasts went winless.

Challengers’ first opponent in playoffs is H.F.C., who finished 4th in the other division.

All Challengers scored and with at least one field goal except Kwok Wai Wen, who had three points on 3-for-six shooting at the free-throw line.
