Finally, the Southorn Basketball Flag is entering the final show-down. On Sunday, Wild Six will face Photons, who has win-it-all in loser-bracket, to see who can grab the flag.

T-REX 29, Photons 47

Photons avenged the 33-55 loss on July 25 against T-REX and goes to the Final.

T-REX started really well in the game, but the 8-to-nothing run was cut quick as well to only a four point lead at the end of the first period. Photons, holding T-REX to only three free-throw points in the second period, turned the deficit to a 21-15 half-time lead, and never trail again. Jonathan Poon led T-REX with 17 points and six boards in the final T-REX appearance in the Flag series.

Teny Wu scored 18 points and 10 rebounds, Harris Wong also added a double-double with 13 and 10. Photons won all games when they scored 40 or more points.

Challengers 27, SOUTHORN Tigers 55

A Challengers’ third loss means only a first victory for Tigers, still a win. Tigers scored 55 points against only five dressed Challengers in a consolation game. Lok Ming Sin, with his youth and speed, shot an outstanding 8-on-13 from the field for 19 points and Chi Wing Chow added eight points after he made all four attempts. SOUTHORN Tigers and D.S.F. will play in a 9th place game on Sunday before the S.B.F. Final at Sheung Wan Sports Centre.
