Bryant Chan was scoreless and the Challengers cannot score more than four points in any period.

The Wild Beasts come to a 1-1 situation easily as they routed the opponent in a 31-21 victory against Challengers, who lost all the three games in the season.

Bryant Chan, who in Season Two lead the G.T. Explorers with 9.8 points and ranked number four in scoring, started the game with a steal but shot an air-ball on the fast-break. Despite a game high five steals for the night, he missed all his sixteen shot in the game.

It was a scoreless game for the first two minutes, until Wild Beasts’ centre Kim Fung Chan made his second free throw for 1-0. Challengers’ centre Tung Heung made a layup for a lead before Kim Fung Chan’s basket which keep the Beasts a 3-2 lead, and they never trailed. Jackie Chan made one of the the team foul shots followed by two by teammate William Cho as the Wild Beasts took a 4-point lead at the end of the quiet first period.

Both teams played through another 3-minute drought to start the second period. By an array of layup, jumper, foul shot and fast-break points, Wild Beasts capped a 9-2 run and took a eleven point lead with less than two minutes left. Challengers forward Will Leung hit two free throws before forward Rick Tsui hit a jumper for the Wild Beasts to take a 17-6 advantage at the break.

Both teams struggled in the third period, while Brian Chan and Chi Kin Wu were the only players to score. Both teams made only one field goal each.

Wild Beasts’ forward Tony Chan scored ten of his twelve points in the final period while Challengers could not defend in the last ten minutes and continued their shooting slump. Tony Chan added also five rebounds, one assist and three steals. He shot 6-8 from the field. Watson Choi had four points, two boards and dished out a game-high four times.

Challenger Brian Chan grabbed a game-high eight rebounds but made only one of two from the floor. The centre had also one steal and two blocked shots.

Challengers missed all 18 attempts s from beyond the arc.

Sixteen misses by Bryant Chan tied the third most in league history by one player in a single game with Michael Killeen who shot 4-20 in the first game in league history against M.I.B.. Tabo Chak missed 18 shots against SAMURAI in Season Two loss despite a 20-point effort on 8-26 shooting. M.I.B. forward Jefferson Tong missed 19 shots on 4-23 shooting in the 3rd place game in Season One.
