Five of the six Explorers scored a career high in points. Team scoring leader Bryant Chan scored 14 of his sixteen points in the first half including four from downtown, tied the most 3PTM record of the league. Teammate Angus Chan matched his record with 7 points, added 3 assists and had a personal best ten boards. Eddie Ng scored 10 points and had 4 rebounds, one assist and steal apiece. Edwin Choi had four points and five rebounds off the bench.

The game pace was set to be high early when the SOUTHORN Tigers decided to start a small lineup with shooters. The team shoot a very good 11-19 from the field in the first period. After Chi Wing Chow split the two free throws and scored the first single point for his team, Ken Leung and Chi Wing Chow combined to made the following 4 field goals without a miss. Ken Leung had three shots, with one just stepped on the three-point line, and scored all his 6 points for the night without a miss in the first period. Centre Chi Wing Chow had all his personal high 7 points in the same period. SOUTHORN Tigers lead 23:12 entering the 2nd period. The 23 points were the most scored in any game in one single period.

The Explorers fought hard behind Bryant Chan“s three treys in the second period but the Tigers answered by baskets from every player on the floor. All Tigers scored in the first half as they took a 38:25 advantage into the break. Played with, again, only six players, the Explorers showed tiredness in the second half.

After a 25-point first half, they scored only 6 in the third period and allowed three treys by Benny Wong to extend the Tigers’ lead. Two teams combined for league records in three point made (11), field goal attempts (116), field goals made (41).
