It cannot tell how was the game by just one half.

Chi Chiu Au started the game with a three-point play and followed by another jumper for five points and tie the game at 5-all. After mark Au tied the game at 7 with two foul shots, Terry Liu hit from deep and took a 3-point advantage into the second period.

The Au’s brothers combined for all the 7 points in the first period.

Wild Beasts continued to be strong and start the second period by a 5-0 run, before Jack Chiu finished a three-point play for 10-15.

After Terry Liu swished a fade-away jumper midway through the second period and put the lead back to seven points, Mark Au’s free throws sandwiched Kelvin Ng’s three-point shot and Kelvin Ng capped the 9-3 run by another trey as SAMURAI was down by one point at the break.

A sluggish game started thereafter.

SAMURAI shot 2 on 10 in the third period and James Kwan missed both the free throws of the team to score 4 points, all by Kelvin Ng. Wild Beasts got no better and were a miserable none on seven from the field. They got only one point from the charity stripe by Kenny Li before the period ended. The teams combined for nine turnovers in that span.

SAMURAI took a 23-21 lead, the first lead since they started the game 3-0, entering the final period.

The game needed only half of the court in the first couple of minutes in the final period. Wild Beasts grabbed consecutive boards on the offensive end followed by consecutive misses, both from the floor and from the line and SAMURAI quickly reached team foul. However, Wild Beasts did not manage to score before the ball was finally moved to the other side of the floor.

Chi Chiu Au hit both his shot in the period for a 27-21 cushion before Kenny Li split two pair of free throws and cut it to 27-23. Kelvin Ng sinked two free throws and seal the win as Wild Beasts did not score again.

Kelvin Ng was scoreless in the previous victory against H.F.C. while Eric Leung, who had 11 in that evening, was scoreless tonight. After scoring in all previous 16 appearance, Jackie Lai was scoreless for the second straight game and was 0-9 in the past three games.

Kenny Li had nine points, five on 14 attempts at the line. The 14 attempts was a new league record. He added also 12 boards, three steals and blocked a shot. Terry Liu added seven points and Kim Fung Chan had five. Ivan Wong was fouled out with a rebound and a turnover.

Wild Beasts, was complained by referees and helpers on their silver and light blue jersey, changed to a new set in black with clear white characters.

After 54-46 victory, SAMURAI had 10 only and with Wild Beasts combined only 13 second half points, the lowest in second half in any game and second lowest in any half. G.T. Explorers and SAMURAI combined for only first half 12 points on Jul 9 2006. Only three other games had any period with less than five points in league history.
