After a first-round upset in 2007 playoffs, SAMURAI started the season 2008 by two straight Ws including an overtime victory against the defending champion H.F.C. in the teams’ season debut. They are searching for the third one on February 17 at Sheung Wan Sports Centre.

Game 1 at 16:10 – GRIZZ vs SAMURAI

The 2007 1st Runner-Up GRIZZ took a two-point victory against new team Dream Team in their first match of the season behind Ka Wai Fu’s 21 points and five three-pointers. They now face the SAMURAI who came to the game with two victories. The two teams did not meet before except in the half-court game held last September when SAMURAI was defeated by the then-champion GRIZZ of that event. This game was expected to be another excited one after the HFC-SAM match up.

Game 2 at 17:20 – Photons vs M.I.B.

M.I.B. finished probably the best game for the team after a 49-43 victory against the young, slumping Chung Sing and is now 1-1 before going to meet the 3rd Runner-Up last season. Photons won 39-24 in their season opener, also against Chung Sing, with a 17-0 final period and this first meeting of the teams will decide who is the better team so far.

Game 3 at 18:30 – SOUTHORN Tigers vs D.S.F.

The Tigers are not looking like a 2nd Runner-Up last season as most players are not quite in shape as they shown in the season debut for a 0-12 first period against Trojans, while former SAMURAI Michael Chan finished with 21 points and nine boards for D.S.F. in the team’s first appearance in S.B.L. and will look for a second straight victory on February 17.

Game 4 at 19:40 – Challengers vs Dream Team

Former Challengers Venus Cheung brought the league the expansion Dream Team (1-1) and now he has just to face the Challengers in the third game since they joined in the league. Challengers, after a zero-and-six season in 2007, came off a 29-22 win against Wild Beasts and will try to have the next win to clean up the past records against Dream Team, who just almost took a second victory by their speed but lost to five treys by Ah So in the previous 2-point loss.
