Jerry’s 4th Period Burst Lift Defending Champ

Trojans scored 19 points in the final period for a 36-31 victory over new team Wyverns, who has only five players dressed and dropped to 0-2 to start the season.

After a 6-5 lead in the middle of the first period, Trojans did not score again but allowed a 8-0 Wyverns spurt as the later led 13-6. Gary Lo scored ten of the team’s 13 points without a miss as Wyverns closed the period with a five-point lead.

Wyverns extended the lead to 11 point midway through the second period, before Man Leung’s three-point play and Mike Mak’s basket helped Trojans to cut the deficit to four at half-time.

Trojans, however, did only had one point from Man in the 3rd period, when Wyverns scored six points to re-gain a nine-point cushion entering the final stanza.

Having missed all seven attempts in first three periods and two more in the next, Jerry Lee not only found his touch finally in the final period, but also got hot when the game was on the line. Until his final attempt from the line, Jerry did not miss a shot the rest of the game.

Danny Yu hit two points for an eight-point lead, but Wyverns, with only five players dressed, could not score again and could only saw the Trojans rally.

Jerry’s second basket just cut the deficit to 25-31, and this is just the start. He tied the game with two three-point shots and took a lead with his third. His final basket concluded a personal 13-0 run which turned a 23-29 deficit to a 5-point victory.

Gary led all scorers on Sunday with 18 points and had 7 boards. He shot 9-for-11 at the line. Danny Yu scored 8 points and added 10 boards, Kenneth Ng grabbed 10 rebounds for Wyverns, who is still looking for a first victory.

Mike Mak had 10 points for Trojans, Michael Lau and Man Leung each added four despite combined for only 3-12 from the field.
